**International Baccalaureate offers avenues of inquiry, appropriate assessment measures, and opportunities to meet the academic needs and strengths of gifted students.

**The gifted program at CLPE consists of differentiation and enrichment that occurs within each student’s homeroom.  

GT Site Coordinator works in partnership with classroom teacher, school counselor, and student to determine achievement and affective goals each school year.  Student will reflect on goals at the beginning, middle, and end of each school year.

**Classroom teachers will differentiate for all students.  GT students will use appropriately leveled novels, advanced reading materials, and extended math and spelling lessons.  

**The IB program provides opportunities for differentiation within the classroom including individual projects and the 5th grade personal project.  IB also allows for self-directed learning, thinking, research and communication.

**Teachers will group gifted learners together in the classroom for some parts of instruction and learning.

As funding and schedules allow, GT students may have the opportunity to participate in a math and/or reading enrichment group.

Opportunities for all CLPE students may include: Lego Robotics, Choir, Little Kids Rock, Running Club, Morning P.E.

GT students will have the opportunity to meet monthly as a grade level GT group with our school counselor.  Topics may include self-advocacy, perfectionism, study skills, organization, etc.
