I love creating new experiences for my students and watching their excitment as they discover and learn something new. Early childhood is such a fun age because so much growth takes place during the course of a year for a preschooler and it is pretty incredible to be a part of that!
I enjoy skiing and spending time with my family. My kids and I love watching funny videos, biking, and swimming.
My favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham because I like the idea of trying new and different things and I also appreciate the persistence of Sam I Am.
I love reading children's books. On my night stand by my bed you will find "Oh the Places You'll Go," by Dr. Seuss and A Little Golden Book's, "T'was the Night Before Christmas."
The warm and inviting atmosphere that the CLPE staff, students, and parents has created. It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of such a supportive community.
We designate a large amount of time to centers in our day. During our center time, students are able to learn and explore with hands-on activities at various centers. Students have to use academic and social skills, as they move from center to center. We learn to be critical-thinkers and risk-takers as we explore Oobleck. Communication, empathy, and cooperation are an integral part of preschool. Students learn and practice how to communicate their own feelings, frustrations, worries, etc. and the causes of each. Then in turn, students are able to identify the emotions of others; students learn to be more empathetic. Learning to cooperate with each other, waiting our turn, sharing, and how to be a good friend is a critical part of our day. We have many opportunities to practice cooperation as partners, in small groups, and in whole group settings.
