I love learning, and really enjoy sharing my excitement of learning with others - especially kids. I enjoy asking questions and finding connections, and then sharing those questions, answers, and connections with an audience. And - if I can share a smile, or some words of encouragement, to make someone's day just a little brighter, that's just icing on the cake!!
I love being active and spending time in the outdoors. During the school year, you can find me hiking in Colorado's beautiful mountains, or biking around fun Fort Collins with my family. In the summer, you'll find me either in a tent, camping, or traveling (Mexico, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, ........), but definitley avoiding yard work! When I'm not up and moving, you'll find me devouring a good book.
I love to read, and I've called many books my favorite. One of the most beautifully written books I've read is The Book Thief. Some recent non-fiction favorites are The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Boys in the Boat, Brain on Fire.
Not only do I reallyenjoy camping, hiking, and biking, but I also really love being in the tropics and snorkeling. I lived, and taught, in Puerto Rico for two years with my husband and every year, I try really hard to figure out some way to spend a little time in the tropics and near a beach!
CLPE is an amazing place to work and go to school. Our small numbers ensure that many teachers get to know every child. We are a community here that truly cares for each other, adult and child alike. Walk into our building and find yourself greeted with a smile. We care about our students and our school, and we all love being here. It's our little secret that this is the best school in Fort Collins! We have often been told that CLPE is much like the small-town schools that some of our students' parents grew up in. Don't let "small-town" fool you though, we are constantly striving to reach each individual child's needs, constantly striving to enrich a student's education, or discovering when an intervention and extra help is necessary.
