Every day is new and exciting in the classroom! I love watching the kids grow and mature over the 9 months they are in my classroom. I try to make them excited about learning and to become life long learners. 4th-graders are so sweet! I love their hugs, cards, home-made gifts, and their eagerness to please. I really enjoy teaching this age because you see them blossom from little kids into mature, respectful little people!
They definitely become more confindent and independent:) Teaching is the best job on Earth!
I love to read, play board games, go boating, and play basketball! I also love to garden:)
Some of my favorite books are Edward Tulane's Miraculous Journey, The One and Only Ivan, Charolette's Web, The Help, The Kite Runner, The Glass Castle, and The Hunger Games,
I grew up on a dairy farm in Connecticut, my family still milks cows today!! I spent most of my summers at local 4-H fairs:) I'm an avid UCONN Huskies basketball fan!
I love so much about CLPE................the location is beautiful, the kids are so friendly, the staff is amazing, and the community is extremely supportive.
Our IB classroom consists of lots of inquiry, collaboration, and problem solving. How better do we learn than questioning and answering?! We use central concepts that can be applied at any level of learning whether it be in the classroom, the local community, or world wide. Transferring these skills is key. Quite often the students work in pairs or groups to solve problems. They pull from each other's strengths. Problem solving is a major part of our IB classroom. Instead of spoon feeding the kids answers they are required to look for solutions on their own first. Problem solving is a skill required for life!!
