About Me
What I love about being an educator...:

The small, tight-knit community here at CLPE is beyond measure. The families and students are phenomenal and the staff is the best I have ever worked with. We have the most dedicated, loving, individuals who work hard to nurture, challenge and embrace these children everyday.

Interests and hobbies...:

Spending time with my husband, two children, and dog are my favorite things to do. Hiking, playing games, listening to music, reading books, and participating in the Healthy Kids Run Series are activities that we enjoy together. Spending time with friends and going for early morning runs rejuvenate me!

Favorite Book and why...:

I love anything by Kate DiCamillo and Jerry Spinelli. I enjoyed the Hunger Games series and enjoy reading National Geographic Magazine.

Something most people do not know about me...:

I am a proud survivor of breast cancer.

I am a charter member of CLP's prestigous :) running club.  (Along with Payton Schneider and Missy Dunnion.)  GO-CLP Running CREW!

My Classroom
What Makes CLPE Special:

The small, tight-knit community and warm feeling you get when you walk in the doors.  CLPE is beyond measure.  The families and students are phenomenal and the staff is the best I have ever worked with.  We have the most dedciated, loving and FUN individuals who work hard everyday to nuture, challenge and love these children everyday.

About my IB classroom...:

In our 4th grade classroom, students work toward being internationally minded human beings. We focus on personal atttitudes they should be demonstrating (ex. appreciation, empathy, respect, etc.)  We foster and support students while we create a rich, authentic learning environment, that students can excel in.  We incorporate various skills (social, communication, research, etc.) that will assist students with their learning in the classroom, but also life outside of school.  We embrace every student for their unique strengths and personalities and guide them to embody a love of life long learning.  Our units of inquiry range from finding out what students' true strengths are and how it helps them make decisions to being informed individuals with critical reasoning skills that are engaged in decision making.  We do an inquiry about patterns and how we can make predictions...whether it be in space, with fossils or mathematics.  We dive into how all living and non-lliving things play a unique and intricate role in our ecosystem, how energy comes in many forms and is essential for our society to function, and why people of various cultures migrate and settle in different regions.  We are passionate about our teaching and our students and truly want to make your child's 4th Grade year the best it can be!
